Product Development Journey

Our team began developing this product due to high demand from our customers, making it an excellent addition to our existing Fine Art Prints lineup. We often heard from our customers that they wanted the option to purchase framed artwork instead of just Fine Art prints. So, we decided to offer this as a solution. We’ve received valuable feedback from customers, and today, we’ll address some of the key points, including product quality and pricing.

Framed Fine Art Prints

Now, let’s take a closer look at the Framed Fine Art Prints. This product features an acrylic cover, which is ideal for shipping because it’s less prone to shattering and causing damage. We know that sometimes carriers mishandle packages, and we want to ensure your artwork arrives safely.

The frame comes in two thickness options: 0.875-inch and 1.25-inch. These frames are made from solid wood, which we cut and join in-house on a custom basis. Currently, we offer three frame colors: black, white, and oak, with more options coming soon. The oak frame is the same one we use for our Framed Canvas Prints.

The Process of Creating Framed Fine Art Paper

1. Molding: We offer two thickness options – 0.875-inch and 1.25-inch. The frame’s size depends on the artwork’s dimensions, with larger prints typically using the 1.25-inch frame for added structural integrity.

2. Printing. After cutting and joining the frames, we print on the fine art paper print. Generally, we use our Archival Matte Paper, Semi-glossy, Hot Press Matte, and Cold Press Matte. We will also be adding new paper offerings including Glossy, Semi-Matte, and Metallic Paper.

3. Mounting. After printing thefinal print, the paper is mounted in a heat and vacuum-activated foamcore.

  • Frame Colors: We provide various wooden frame colors, including black, white, and oak.
  • Acrylic or Glazing Class: We use optical-grade acrylic, which is both durable and shatterproof. It ships safely and can be cleaned with a gentle cloth or duster.
  • Matting: If you choose to include a mat, we cut and mount it along with the acrylic, creating a complete package for your artwork. The matboards that we use are acid-free, which helps the print to last for a long time. Additionally, we offer a range of matting colors, from standard options like silver to custom colors for larger projects.
  • Backing and Hanging Wire: We add backing to protect the artwork, and every Framed Fine Art Print comes with hanging wire for easy installation.

Options for Customization

We understand that every project is unique, and customization is essential. Here are some customization options we offer:

  • Choice of frame thickness (0.875-inch or 1.25-inch).
  • Frame color selection (black, white, oak, and more coming soon).
  • Matting color choices for a personalized touch.
  • Optional backing and hanging wire.
  • Sawtooth hangers as an alternative to hanging wire, providing flexibility in pricing.
  • Various paper options, including archival matte, semi-glossy, hot press, cold press, glossy, and metallic paper.
  • Custom color mat boards for large projects, although this may require longer lead times.

Shipping and Packaging

To ensure your Framed Fine Art Prints arrive in pristine condition, we take extra care in packaging. Each print is secured between two pieces of cardboard, providing a buffer against potential damage during shipping. In the rare event that any damage occurs, we’ll replace your order promptly and free of charge.

Pickups

The Framed Fine Art Paper Prints are currently being manufactured in our Kentucky facility. While the product is available for pickup at our California Headquarters, we would have to ship it there first. Customers who are near the Kentucky facility are most welcome to directly pick up their orders.

  • What a novel idea! have a key stakeholder actually physically show you what you are getting. As a photographer I have been looking for a good quality canvas and framed prints to ship direct to my clients from my ecommerce store.

I just ordered a sample canvas. Excited to have a new business partner to supply quality products to my customers!
